Ballet is an adventure! Bring your compassion for yourself and for others and leave the perfectionism at home. You have with you so many gifts. It will be such a joy to discover them all with you. I’ll see you at the barre. 

The Address: 380 Broadway, Buzzer #5. The studio is on the north east corner of White street and Broadway two blocks south of Canal Street. The N/R/Q/W trains are closest, but other nearby trains include the A/C/E, 1 Train and many others. It is a plain white door with three steps up and no signs. The studios are on the 5th floor (an added warm-up!) There are changing rooms and bathrooms.  🙂

Wednesdays: July 29th and August 5, 12, 19, and 26

Open Level Class: This class is called an Open Level class but is primarily geared towards dancers who have some experience. Those with no experience, please take the Sunday Beginning class at 1:30pm. The Open Level class is between Beginning and Intermediate level — often called  “Advanced Beginner” though it is neither advanced nor beginning. We sometimes workshop turns or specific jumps, and we have a lot of fun! My aim is for you to leave sweaty, exuberant, and excited to return. 

Sundays: May 4th and 11th and June 1st, 15th, 22nd and 29th

Beginning Level class: Sundays 1:30pm-2:30pm  This is a one hour, expedited format class for brand new beginners or those getting back into ballet. We focus on technique and basics, as we go through a full class starting with the barre, and moving to the center floor. This class that can be modified for dancers who are returning from injury. 

Open Level class: Sundays 2:30pm-4:00pm  This class is called an Open Level class but is primarily geared towards dancers who have some experience. Those with no experience, please take the Sunday Beginning class at 1:30pm. The Open Level class is between Beginning and Intermediate level — often called  “Advanced Beginner” though it is neither advanced nor beginning. We sometimes workshop turns or specific jumps, and we have a lot of fun! My aim is for you to leave sweaty, exuberant, and excited to return. 

Pointe class: 4:00pm-5:00pm In this beginner pointe class, we start at the barre, warming up slowly. Some dancers stay at the barre for the whole class. Stronger dancers are encouraged to step away from the barre as we move into traveling combinations. We always do ankle strengthening exercises and stretch at the end. If you want to prepare your ankles to do pointe, you can take the class in ballet slippers.

Payment

Classes are drop in, and you can sign up individually, or for as many classes as you would like. If you pay for a class and need to miss it, we can apply that payment towards a future class. You can pay in advance or weekly, but I prefer that you pay on the day of taking class. (It’s easier for my Administrative team….errr, me.)

Please do not come to class if you are feeling ill – stay home and take care of yourself and feel better soon. 🙂
